Clio Cup young gun Josh Price capped off a strong weekend at Rockingham with a 6th and 5th position overall in wildly mixed conditions over the two races
Rockingham was the 7th different circuit to host the Renault Clio Cup in the 2016 Championship for races 13 and 14.
Qualifying took place in dry conditions, as Price put in his best qualifying performance of the season, setting the 3rd fastest time overall, aswell as the 2nd fastest time for second best laps - which set the grid for the second race.
The opening race took place after a sudden storm hit the circuit with such force that it make visibility almost impossible due to the dark sky and spray created by the downpour.
Price overcame these difficult conditions - despite being knocked back at the start and crossing the line in 11th position, he battled his way back through and into 6th positon by the chequered flag - taking the Graduate Cup victory in the process.
Fortunately the rain had passed by the time racing took place on Sunday for Round 14. Price held 3rd position in the opening laps. Holding his own in the podiums places until lap 7, where he was demoted down to 5th place in the tight infield section.
The gap to the drivers infront and behind Price remained static till the end of the race, as he held 5th position to the finish - taking 2nd overall Graduate.
After the healthy points haul from a strong weekend at Rockingham, Price has gained ground and increased 7th overall in the standings, and solidifying his 2nd overall in the Graduate Cup.
Price goes into the final two rounds of the championship with the main aim to gain further ground overall in the championship - aswell as securing P2 overall in the Graduate Cup.
The next round of the Clio Cup Championship will take place at the Silverstone National Circuit, as the season begins to reach the business end on the 17-18 September.
